Nearly all the Scouts wanted to watch the England-Uruguay match, so our meeting was cancelled. Sadly, all our cheering didn’t do much good.
Chariot racing
Bottle rockets
While the District chariot racing was going on, we invited spectators to make and launch bottle rockets:
Making a splash
Raft racing at our family camp
First tents are up at family camp
Chariots of fire
Well, OK, they weren’t quite that quick.
We tested the new chariots, built (and painted now) for the District races on 14 June. One or two good learning points were discovered!
Rounding off the half term
Half the Scout Troop were away on school trips or preparing for exams, so we abandoned the planned evening and went out for a game of rounders. It rained a bit, but we didn’t let that stop us.
DAW
The feedback we’ve had so far is that everyone had a great time at DAW…..the weather was very good to us, maybe a bit too hot at times but we couldn’t have asked for better.
Thanks to ALL the help we got as a group: drivers to/from Bromham, equipment movers, setting-up, striking camp, escorts and camp cooks. Without your help, we couldn’t have attended DAW anywhere as successfully.

Pitch in and help
Scouts went up to Bromham to help the Group pitch tents for the District Away Weekend (DAW) camp this weekend.
